Hykus: New Akai Pro Australian Team Artist
Akai Professional Australia is proud to welcome Western Australian producer, label boss, DJ and lecturer, 'Hykus' to the family roster. Hykus, also known as Haikus or Mathieu Valton to his parents, has been producing beats of the broken variety for well over a decade. His productions cover genres such as Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Breaks and Dubstep.
In addition to his production work, Hykus will soon be launching his record label, 'Infamous Recordingz' - with the first scheduled release to be from New Zealand's Bulletproof and France's Youthman.
Hykus has toured and played major festivals nation-wide and internationally; including: Big Day Out, Future Music Festival and ASP World Tour as well as supporting artists such as: Roni Size, LTJ Bukem, Shy FX, Mixmaster Mike, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Derrick May, M-Phazes, Illy, Low Budget, Optamus (Downsyde) and many, many other events in Perth and worldwide
When not touring, producing, signing or mastering the next big act or track, Hykus can be found lecturing and teaching at SAE Perth in the 'Electronic Music Production' course as well as handling specific technical units in both the Diploma and Degree courses. He is also a certified Ableton trainer, so it comes as no surprise that he's an Akai Pro APC endorsed artist.
ELFA and Akai Pro Australia warmly welcome Hykus to the artist family and are excited to be involved with such a talented and passionate musician on the rise.
