Hip-Hop heads will already be familiar with the name Chasm. His beats have been behind the likes of Astronomy Class, Vida Sunshine, Skryptcha, Dialectrix and in fact many other Elefant Traks and Obese Records artists for years.

 

His list of releases and production credits include: the newly released 'Move' (Chasm & Vida Sunshine), the recently ARIA nominated 'Pursuit of Happiness' and also the killer first LP; 'Exit Strategy' (Astronomy Class), 'Left To Write' EP (Skyrptcha), 'Cycles of Survival' (Dialectrix) as well as his solo joints: 'Beyond The Beat Tape', 'Beyond The Beat Tape 12"' and the self-titled 'Chasm EP'.

 

The Melbourne born, Sydney-side resider has been a fan of Akai Pro's MPC range for quite a while now, so we thought it best to officially enlist the services of the master beatsmith for our  own personal benefit. Chasm uses the MPC2500 and MPC1000's in both production and performance, soon we will be releasing a demo video of how it is Chasm concocts his dub-reggae inspired beats through the MPC... so stay tuned.
